July 2019; PfP-VC members Dr. Lynn Rockney, Dr. Nessa Meshkaty and Dr. Leslie-Lynn Pawson met with Congressman Salud Carbajal, the United States Representative from California’s 24th congressional district. The group was very excited to hear that Congressman Carbajal had recently signed on in support of H.R.1384, the “Improved Medicare for All” bill. The three physicians introduced our organization, its goals and why it supports a single payer health insurance system. Each doctor was able to give very poignant examples of patients under their care who have suffered under our current system. PfP-VC looks forward to working with Congressman Carbajal and his staff to educate his constituents on this important issue, informing them of the benefits of a single payer approach and the path to get there.
